Demystify contemporary art music for young audiences with limited exposure to this music. Feedback from participants and artists indicating that participants gained critical listening skills, reconsidered preconceptions, and showed interest in future new music programs. 2: The acquisition of new techniques for the performance and creation of contemporary art music. Careful review of workshops, improvisational sessions, and performance recordings demonstrating student ability to execute new techniques, and to employ those techniques creatively and expressively.
