ACHF Arts Education
Provide 500 contact hours of African American literary arts residencies in five Twin Cities schools, reaching approx. 450 students, grades K-12. Use student pre and post surveys to assess increases in student awareness and knowledge of African American literary arts. Track residency contact hours via tracking form. 2: Improve students’ ability to read and understand, to write responsively, and to express themselves with original creative writing. Pre and post: short reading and writing samples, assess increased capacity for understanding and response; short free-form essays, assess increased ability for original, creative self-expression.
Provide 483 contact hours of African American literary arts residencies in ten Twin Cities schools, reaching 751 students, grades K-12. Use pre and post-student surveys to assess increases in student awareness and knowledge of African American literary arts. Use staff post-surveys to assess staff satisfaction with residency outcomes.
