Arts Learning
ACHF Arts Education
Students with severe emotional-behavioral needs participate in a quality arts learning experience, due to integration of needed support. Artist and project manager will count number of students participating successfully (i.e. students' behavioral or mental health needs did not prevent their engagement in the arts).
Our District recognizes the need and importance of offering creative art experiences to our unique Educational Setting IV student population. We attempt to explore all funding grant and foundation funding streams to support this endeavor. Without the generosity of funders such as the Minnesota State Arts Board it would be doubtful our students would be exposed/participate in similar types of rewarding experiences. We have been fortunate to have been able to invite Artist in Residence Perrin Boyd back to work with our student/staff over the past several years. Artist Boyd has established incredible relationships with our students, especially those students with whom she has worked with multiple times. Students who typically would refuse to participate in performance art became willing.
