Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Students will develop basic physical, mental, and social skills needed to perform Gamelan. Students will improve listening, observation, and concentration as successful performance requires a great deal of cooperation and group awareness. Additionally, students will deepen appreciation for cultural diversity and learn contextual history surrounding these art forms.Student reflection and written evaluation, as well as post-performance discussions with teachers that evaluate the process as well as the product.

Measurable Outcome(s)

All students in 7th and 8th grades at Linwood/Monroe School learned basic gamelan playing skills, how to work together cooperatively, and about Indonesian culture.
