Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

We are incredibly fortunate to have international leaders in string instruction who have connections to other world class musicians and teachers. We wish to take advantage of their passion and energy to benefit our students, our program, and our community. We believe that positive role models help students understand pathways to higher achievement. By giving youth access to excellence, we create opportunities for inspiration. Expected benefits - Boosting recruitment for our strings program - Bringing community together through group activities - Increasing the awareness of the importance of music and art - Accessing high quality performances - Cultivating a sense of belonging to an artistic community - Inspiring artistic excellence - Creating a replicable program Measurable outcomes: 1) Numbers of attendees who sign up for the string program 2) Number of survey responses that indicate a positive experience Surveys will be distributed to students and parents. We are excited to report that during a recent activity of this nature, we received a 100% response rate from students by distributing surveys during class and asking for 'on the spot' feedback, so we will use that approach again. Parents historically offer even more constructive feedback, so we also will survey them in addition to students. We will also add an interview with teaching staff to gauge their thoughts and suggestions. We will then compile surveys, financial information and program enrollment numbers for our final report. A meeting will be held to review that information with TCCC and IOSP staff to evaluate successes and improvement areas.
