Arts Learning
Students will collaborate with six teaching artists from four community arts organizations; they will engage in hands-on art and social justice experiences and create a spoken word poem, play, collage art, mural, and participate in the MayDay Parade.

ACHF Arts Education
Students will increase understanding of what it means to be an artist by engaging in creation and performance with six professional artists. The program will be assessed by student pre/post interviews, written reflections, and following rubric developed with our arts partners. Students will create and perform finished pieces of art. 2: Students increase understanding of the interdependent relationship between community and arts through direct participation in local art organizations. We will use student reflection data from each unit as well as from the end of the course. Also, pre and post-surveys on arts engagement, and evaluation feedback from arts partners.
Students did engage with six professional artists and create/perform pieces for each unit. Student completion of final work, in each unit group and individual student reflection interviews, teacher/artist collaborative use of rubrics designed for each arts unit. 2: Students continued to engage in arts partnering even during school shut down last spring. Student reflections and anecdotes about the meaningful experiences, students participation; and artist reflections were used to evaluate the work.
