Dancer/choreographer Kaleena Miller will collaborate with the Dakota Foundation for Jazz Education to bring Music/Motion, a workshop exploring the intersection of two distinctly American artforms--tap dance and jazz music--to four high school jazz bands.

Participants develop creative tools by exploring the shared cultural and creative intersection of jazz music and tap dance. Through pre/post-surveys, documentation of workshops with video, audio and still photos, analysis of student work and evidence of progress in the arts disciplines. 2: Participants will develop skills and habits related to improvisation and working collaboratively as a group. Methods include ongoing teaching artist and evaluator observations and notes, learner surveys and discussions, and reflection meetings for all participants.
