Participants in the History Theatre's arts residencies will create plays based on lived experiences and then perform them, an expansion of Cabaret for Seniors incorporating music into two residencies for older adults.

Underserved Minnesotans learn essential theatrical skills of writing and performing by creating scripts, rehearsing and performing onstage. Pre-program survey asks participants to self-identify their comfort with theatrical skills of writing and performing. Participants re-take the survey the final day. On the final day, artists facilitate a response session to collect qualitative data. 2: Participants learn how to collaborate as they add their unique artistic voices into a larger collaborative work. Pre- and post- program surveys and a final facilitated conversation will gauge participants' comfort and experience with collaboration at the culmination of the program.
Seven arts residencies were held: three for youth serving 25 students and four for older adults serving 36 participants. After each content area in a residency, artists lead participants to rate their proficiency with theatrical skills. On the final day, artists facilitate a response session to collect qualitative data. 2: 61 Participants learned how to collaborate as they added their unique artistic voices into a larger collaborative work. Pre and post-program surveys and a final facilitated session gauged participant comfort and experience with collaboration before and at the culmination of the program.
