The High School for Recording Arts and its Check Yo'Self Health and Wellness Center will collaborate with local People of Comedy artists for a Comedy Clinic residency featuring biweekly workshops, performances, recordings, and a final show.

Student artists will develop effective habits of comedic observation, processing, development, creation, delivery, and performance. Comedy Clinic outcomes will be assessed through pre-and post-set performance videos, critiques using co-developed rubrics based on the elements of comedy, number of participants and performers, parent/community feedback surveys, and student surveys. 2: Student artists will demonstrate increased understanding of how comics and comedy affect and are affected by societal and interpersonal issues. We will assess using student comedic observation and process journals, self and peer evaluations, HOPE surveys, parent/advisor/community surveys and feedback, comparison of overall performance before, during and after project.
Student artists developed effective habits of comedic observation, processing, development, creation, delivery and performance. After discussions about elements of quality, the students were recorded and the group evaluated the individual and skit performances. 2: Student artists demonstrated increased understanding of how comics and comedy affect and are affected by societal and interpersonal issues. Individual writing, HOPE scores, before/after videos and group discussions about comedy/comedian's role in society were used to assess this outcome. Comedians in the news were discussed.
