Funds will assist the Bemidji Woodcarvers Club to provide 3-day workshops on Scandinavian flat-plane style woodcarving in Bemidji and Park Rapids, May 18-23, 2012.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Our goal is to develop among participants and community members an appreciation and knowledge of Scandinavian flat-plane carving techniques and a desire to ensure that these techniques are perpetuated.An exit survey will be completed by each participant to evaluate their satisfaction with the workshop and results will be submitted to Region 2 Arts Council with overall summary of the workshops and comments by the instructor. The goal is 80% of participating woodcarvers will rate their overall impression of the workshops as ôGoodö or ôVery Good,ö 90% will rate the content as ôGoodö or ôVery Good,ö and 90% will rate the effectiveness of the instruction as ôGoodö or ôVery Good.ö

Measurable Outcome(s)

There were beginning carvers as well as a mix of seasoned, more advanced carvers. Women were well represented at both workshops, as were persons with disabilities. The majority of carvers were senior citizens. The public who attended the Open Houses after
