Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The goals of this project are to encourage students to study the works of Mark Twain through reading and self-driven research on topics presented in the performance. To provide 1200 students and 300 community members exposure to Samuel Clemens in his own words as he would have spoken them to our grandparents more than 100 years ago. To provide an awareness of life in the 1800s through a positive theater experience and to show the relevance of the content today. Finally, to promote understanding of the powerful role Twain played in influencing people through his humor and serious dialogue. We will conduct an exit survey for students and faculty, expecting a majority will describe a positive experience.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We met our goals. We provided a live actor performance to the students and community as well as four classroom small group sessions where we encouraged 120 students to study the works of Mark Twain. Each of the four teachers involved in the group sessions
