Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Following the Minnesota Academic Standards in the Arts, second graders participating in this experience will gain basic skills in movement in rhythmic and musical contexts, in creating a sequence of movement with a beginning, middle and end to communicate a story, and in using movement, sound, language, voice, costumes, and props to create images, express ideas, and communicate a character and a story. Audiences will gain knowledge and appreciation for theater through attending this play.Students will be asked to reflect on their experience through a questionnaire. The audience knowledge and appreciation for theater and the performance will be measured based on their responses to questions asked before and after the play.

Measurable Outcome(s)

The students had enough theater knowledge to be able to form opinions about their experience. 184 people attended the play. 17 of those people saw a play for the very first time. 54 people attending the play knew someone performing in the play for the very first time. 166 audience members would like to attend other plays and 89 audience members would like to participate in a play like this.
