Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Real or perceived barriers to arts participation and arts access are identified and addressed. New relationships with members of groups that have traditionally been underserved by the arts or by the applicant organization are built. Surveys including both quantitative and free response questions will be given for all participants: to authors, teachers, support staff, and audiences. This data will be collected at both the halfway point and end of classes, tabulated by our director, and analyzed by teams of teachers, partners, and authors at the start of each new semester to inform how we improve future classes.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We had no changes to our evaluation methods. The surveyed results were very useful as they show that this class is valuable to the students, that the students feel they are supported by their teachers, and that the impact is valuable. In the fall we had a couple instances, as best as Cow Tipping Press could tell, of staff "ventriloquizing" for participants who do not speak/read, which is, of course, antithetical to Cow Tipping Press's mission and we didn't catch until later. So, we made adjustments to make sure that participants know they have to use words in some way (speaking, writing, typing, talkboard, etc.) to participate.
