ACHF Arts Access
As a result of this program, attendees, free of charge, will increase their knowledge and understanding of sheep wool characteristics that allow it to be used in felted art and their understanding of the culture and history of Mongolia. They will also learn how to use wool to create felted functional art by participating in making a tapestry design in felt using a variety of sheep breed wools available locally to create a functional, traditional Mongolian yurt. Evaluation format consists of paper surveys distributed to attendees to measure understanding, accessibility and continuation of artistic expression by attendees. Attendees are also encouraged to create pieces of felted art based on their newfound understanding of wool and inspired by their knowledge of Mongolian culture.
