Project Details

Funds will provide the opportunity for the teens from the Boys and Girls Club to experience art and nature at the Neilson Spearhead Center including drawing and painting local birds with artist Mary Therese and taking part in creating a public mural.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

As a result of participaction in the Avian Arts Adventure, the teens and tweens from the Boys and Girls Club will expereince increased knowledge and attitude of how they can be visual artists by connecting with nature. The studetns will learn to identify local bird species and how to draw and paint them which will increase their visual art skills. Evaluation methods include a pre and post survey to be administered right before the Avial Arts Adventure and on the last day of the program.
