ACHF Arts Access
As a result of this mural, Bemidji High School students and staff will experience a positive cultural appreciation in imagery depicting Anishinaabe influence and cultural context. The experience the student artists have will allow them to gain knowledge in Native American culture as well as how to plan and paint a mural. The viewers, both student body and the public will be introduced and be exposed to cultural imagery that they might not have happened upon on their own. Evaluation methods include a questionnaire and or interview with both participants of the mural as well as viewers. This format will be administered throughout the art opening and the fallowing week of the completion of the mural. This evaluation will measure the change in knowledge and awareness of our indigenous culture amongst out school population.
