Project Details

Funds will assist Lake of the Woods Art Guild to host a workshop instructed by Master Traditional Artist Jessica Gokey in the art of native beadwork design and execution.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

As a result of the Beading Traditions workshop with Jessica Gokey, students will experience an increase in thier knowledge, skills and confidence in creating Ojibwe floral beadwork on thier own. This intensive course will take students through all the steps how to create Ojibwe floral beadwork , bead thier own designs and implement thier designs into original floral patterns. Students will be able to apply the knowledge and skills gained to improve thier own projects and share with others.; n/a. A survey will be distributed to participants at the end of the Workshop. This questionaire will measure thier evaluation of the entire class and the skills they have accuired.; n/a.
