Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

As a result of this funding, older adults will experience an increase in knowledge and skills in both woodworking and pottery through skilled teachers, hands on experience and longer classes that allow for a slower pace that will create the atmosphere to relax and enjoy the journey. A change in behavior from a busy, hurry and get things done pace to enjoying the process and producing quality pieces due to a change in behavior!. Evaluation methods include interviews with participants and artists and surveys at the end of the class to measure new knowledge and skills acquired, how the slower pace is affecting them, enabling them to slow down and enjoy the process. Also interviews with artists as to relationship with participants and ability to create a calm, relaxed atmosphere that our older adult participants can enjoy the journey.
