Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

MacPhail will deepen its ability to design music programming that is culturally responsive to community organizations and the people they serve. MacPhail will collaborate with NCDC to develop and administer surveys and conduct interviews of parents and teachers to measure MacPhail's cultural responsiveness in music activities. 2: Young children in North Minneapolis will participate in music activities that will enhance their development and support parents and teachers. Pre- and post-surveys of caregivers and teachers will measure changes in music making of children.

Measurable Outcome(s)

All teachers surveyed strongly agreed (36%) or agreed (64%) MacPhail's Teaching Artist used music to appropriately reflect students' culture. MacPhail worked with consultants at Wilder Research to conduct self-reported surveys that were administered to NCDC teachers. Wilder completed data collection and produced a summary report based on the findings. 2: All parents/caregivers of NCDC students strongly agreed (78%) or agreed (22%) their children were interested in and enjoyed listening to music. MacPhail worked with consultants at Wilder Research to conduct self-reported surveys that were administered to parents/caregivers of NCDC students.
