Forecast Public Artworks will conduct Hacerlo Público (Making It Public) workshops in Spanish in three Minnesota Latinx communities.

The field of public art will be more diverse; underrepresented artists will be made eligible for grants and commissions. Forecast will follow up with workshop participants six months and one-year post-workshop to understand how the workshop has affected their public art careers and the community impact of those careers. 2: Culturally relevant workshop content will make participants confident in their ability to make public art, refine their own artistic voice. Forecast will track the number of workshop attendees and future requests for workshops in Spanish. We will use ABE methods such as the Tree Imagery technique to solicit and capture artist and community feedback for developing new strategic directions.
Forecast developed a virtual bilingual Spanish/English Making It Public workshop to prepare Latinx and Hispanic artists to enter the public art field. Due to the pandemic, the workshop timeline shifted and we were unable to complete post-workshop follow up. We plan to still follow up with participants six months and one year post-workshop about impacts on their public art careers and communities. 2: The workshop was adapted by Forecast team + Latinx and Hispanic partners to be culturally relevant and informative about the public art field + processes. Forecast tracked the number of workshop attendees (29) and will track future requests for workshops in Spanish.
