The Cedar will build and support an Artist Collective, a cohort of local community minded, multicultural musicians, to curate shows at The Cedar, develop initiatives to increase access to the organization, and broaden the diversity of programming.

Diverse audiences will develop deeper, more authentic relationships with The Cedar, supported by outreach and insight of the Artist Collective (AC). Through qualitative surveys and conversations, we will determine whether diverse Cedar patrons continue to engage in programming beyond their initial entry point due to the initiatives and trust built through the AC. 2: As a new org leadership model, the AC will advise on strategies to further engage BIPOC artists and audience members as true partners of The Cedar. Determining successful partnership will be measured through AC member feedback, their support in structuring the future of the collective, and engagement with the board, advisory committees, and Cedar staff after their service year concludes.

Through qualitative surveys, focus groups, and comments posted on YouTube and Facebook, we were able to determine that we reached new audiences with our programs. We will continue to gather data to determine if these relationships build and grow. 2: The Artist Collective advised on strategies that furthered engaged BIPOC artists and audience members as true partners of The Cedar. Artist Collective members provided feedback that demonstrates their potential for continued relationships with The Cedar, helped to seed on-going partnerships and relationships beyond the Collective, and supported the development of future plans.
