Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Our major partners are the Walker West Music Academy, Twin Cities Jazz Society, and the Minneapolis Media Institute. Students will complete pre and post project evaluations to determine if the experience inspired, or deepened their commitment to jazz music. Our partners will complete evaluations of the project with the goal of improving our future projects. 2: Address perceived barriers: performing with professional musicians, transportation to events, and performing unfamiliar music. We will provide printed programs, performance recordings, photographs and media coverage as documentation. Their schools will be notified of all progress including: attendance in all events, rehearsals and performances.

Measurable Outcome(s)

We have continued current relationships and partnerships with Walker West Music Academy, Twin Cities Jazz Society, Minneapolis Media Institute and Dakota Jazz Foundation for Jazz Education. We have developed and expanded new relationships with KBEM 88.5 FM Radio, Twin Cities Mobile Jazz Project and band leaders from Minneapolis and St. Paul schools. The above-mentioned organizations have either referred young artists to PipJazz Foundation or partnered with PipJazz Foundation through workshops. These organizations have also provided opportunities for PipJazz All Stars to perform on stage, radio, television and to appear in summer festivals within the Twin Cities area. See attached students evaluations of their PipJazz experiences and how it has deepened their commitment to Jazz. 2: The real or perceived barriers for young jazz musicians is the ability to put their musical studies into real world performance experiences. Another barrier is to be recognized by world class musicians as peers. This opportunity has given student participants the incentive to continue to grow in their craft, to continue their studies in jazz and music in college and to build their relationships with the world class musicians they have performed with on the PipJazz stage. We have 98.5 percent of our PipJazz alumni who have chosen to further their music and jazz studies and 75% of these students are presently performing while attending college, who we proudly refer to as our PipJazz alumni.
