Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The Ordway and Sabathani Community Center will deepen their relationship by embarking on collaborative community arts programming. The project will engage Sabathani constituents and will use Sabathani as a hub where activities occur and as a point of convening to connect audiences with the Ordway's programming in world music. 2: The Ordway will provide access to a performance and experiential learning in the arts by members of multicultural communities in the Twin Cities. The Ordway will provide ticket and transportation subsidies to enable members of the Sabathani community to attend Ordway events and communicate with Sabathani staff in order to identify and address additional barriers.

Measurable Outcome(s)

This was achieved by cooperatively working to connect the Ordway with programs within Sabathani, such as We Win Insitutute, Horizons, and Connections to Independence. Sabathani became a hub for Ordway-led activity and worked with the Ordway to recruit participants, encourage parent participation, and promoting the programs both at Sabathani and the opportunity to attend a show at the Ordway. Nearly 300 people attended the final performance at the Ordway, including the participating youth. 2: This was achieved by providing tickets and transportation to enable members of the Sabathani community to attend the Raul Midón concert. Additional opportunities included diverse artistic panels dialoguing with community members about careers in the arts in front of and behind the curtain, a workshop with Midón at Sabathani, and a youth showcase performance at the end of the summer workshops.
