Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Through study of music theory, attending weekly jam sessions, and setting up and editing her own sound on live performances of original tunes, the student’s knowledge of songwriting will improve, her collaboration with other musicians will expand, and her knowledge of technical sound engineering necessary for recording and performing will increase.Feedback from her mentor, other musicians, and audiences during open mic and jam sessions as well as a final critique on her recording skill and outcome will indicate whether her knowledge of songwriting has improved, her collaboration with other musicians has expanded, and her knowledge and skill in sound engineering has increased.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Through feedback from her mentor, other musicians, and audiences, the student noted an increase in her ability to collaborate with other musicians. She has gained inspiration to write and arrange music for jam sessions and bands. She has learned improvisational skills in scales, lyrics, and solos and has learned from her mentor how to effectively self-critique her work.
