Artist in Residency Grant - Round 1
Discovery Theatre Residency
Chris Brown, teaching artist, will conduct a theatre arts residency at Discovery Elementary School in Waite Park, January 8 - February 28, 2013. Thirty students, grades K - 5, will participate in theatre exercises as they develop their theatre vocabulary, skills, and on-stage presence.

We expect the following measurable outcomes from student participation in the Discovery Theatre Residency: increased personal confidence, increased speaking and listening skills, increased interest in theatre arts, increased theatre knowledge and technical skills, demonstrated ability to perform in a theatre production.Participating students will take pre- and post-surveys to determine a change in their skills and abilities measured against intended program outcomes. The program coordinator will also complete a survey regarding her observations of students' change in technical theatre skills, social skills and behavior.
