Complete a memoir that chronicles the devastation of my grandchildren's sexual abuse and the search for healing that follows. My completed manuscript draft will be read and critiqued by my writing groups and by Patricia Francisco, the author of TELLING: A Memoir of Rape and Recovery. 2: Increase awareness of the personal and societal consequences of the rape of children by exploring critical questions about cause and recovery. I will partner with other writers, venues, and child-advocacy organizations to enlarge my audience and publicize the event. Evaluated through engagement in, and response to, two workshops/readings that I will organize.
Teresa Whitman writes about the search for healing after child sexual assault. She combines personal narrative and research. The manuscript draft is being read and critiqued by other writers and survivors of child sexual abuse. Her story has allowed others to share their own experiences of trauma and healing.
