Schmid will work with a mentor to revise her manuscript and organize a three-part public program that engages the ideas in her work.

The applicant will hold three gatherings/workshops in Minneapolis and Saint Paul to share the ideas that fuel her work with Minnesota communities. The applicant will design interactive exercises for participants in the three events. Participant engagement and the quality of conversation will serve as the standards for evaluation. 2: The applicant will work with a mentor to edit the manuscript. Eric Lorberer has agreed to read the manuscript and work with the applicant on revisions. The new career skill for the applicant is how to professionally edit a manuscript. The outcome will be evaluated based on whether the manuscript is successfully and completely revised with professional guidance by the end of the grant period.
Christina Schmid designed interactive exercises for writing workshops on Zoom. The exercises combined visual analysis with experimental storytelling. Based on participant engagement and feedback, the writing exercises succeeded in stimulating both creative expression and dialogue. 2: Schmid worked with Eric Lorberer as her editor to critique and revise the manuscript. Schmid and Lorberer discussed and analyzed the structure, language, voice, and scope of the text thoroughly. The resulting revised manuscript is now organized into ten sections and ready to be submitted for publication.
