Artist Initiative
Sands will research historical Scandinavian handwork as sources for a new body of artworks. These artworks will be exhibited at American Swedish Institute in February 2021.

ACHF Arts Access
Audiences will develop awareness of printmaking processes and Scandinavian imagery through an artist talk and related events at ASI and Golden Valley. Participants will create prints and have an opportunity to discuss/display their work. They will receive a simple outcomes-based form to fill out at the conclusion. Attendees of the artist talk will have the opportunity to ask questions. 2: I will develop connections to local museums through research of Scandinavian handwork and creating a new body of artworks for exhibition at ASI. I will make connections to the museums through site visits and correspondence. I will write a 1-3 page statement on the research learned. I will create new contemporary artworks that reference the research for exhibition at ASI in Feb. 2021.
Audiences developed awareness of Swedish bobbin lace patterns and printmaking processes through an exhibition and artist talk. The evaluation applied was through an open-ended questionswer period at the end of a Zoom artist talk. 2: Artistic practice was developed through an exhibition and deeper connections with local museums and community. Evaluation for this outcome was measured through a completed exhibition installed both indoors and outside installation. Deeper connections were made with the community through conversation and new opportunities.
