Mimosa Montes will research the ways chronic illness informs contemporary writing practices. She also will lead a series of writing workshops in Minneapolis and Saint Paul that focuses on literatures of chronic illness.

Create space for members of chronically ill community through a series of reading/writing workshops to be held in Minneapolis and Saint Paul. I will design a short survey for participants to complete at the end of each workshop. 2: Writing based on research and workshops to be shared in public event. Writings based on research will be shared at public event which will feature local Minnesota-based performers; success will be determined by audience attendance and feedback; audience feedback will be documented in notebook following completion of event.
