I will reach a wider audience by participating in two readings and continue to improve my teaching skills by hosting one erasure workshop. I'll host Q and A sessions after each reading and record notes after on audience engagement/what's working in order to improve for subsequent readings. I'll provide a survey after the erasure workshop to gauge participant's understanding of the technique. 2: I will reach an important step in my career: completing my first manuscript by writing twelve new poems and finishing an erasure series. I'll track how much time I spend in the studio each week and how many poems I write and submit for publication each month. I'll also keep detailed notes on how my erasure technique/aesthetic, which involves Photoshop, develops throughout the year.
Casey Patrick improved her public speaking skills and connected with new audiences by participating in two readings (1 virtual, one in-person). Casey kept notes and talked with attendees to collect ideas of how to improve in later readings, including reading speed and dialogue with the audience. A Q and A was hosted at the first reading. The 2nd reading also featured an informal Q and A. 2: The erasures didn't end up being a focus of the project; however, Casey wrote seventeen new poems and is in final stages of preparing her first manuscript. Casey tracked the amount of time she spent in the studio (this was affected by Covid in some cases), along with the number of new poems written and submitted for publication. By tracking, she was able to map how her generative output was affected.
