Project Details

Moua will direct and edit Sun and Moon, a short film that highlights a unique Hmong folktale and culture. The film will explore social issues, while preserving history and educating others about the Hmong people.

Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Engage the community to Hmong films, social issues, and the art of storytelling. Push the film to the public: film festivals, events, and public screenings. Attend festivals and public screenings and engage with audience about topic such as disabilities and social status. Collect other useful information for future development. 2: Improve and develop Filmmaking skills. Completed short film will be evaluated by college film professors and filmmaker peers. Discussions and evaluation among actors and crew members about my performance as a director/filmmaker will also be collected.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Showcasing and engage the Hmong community about a new and unique Hmong film. The film 'Sun and Moon' was released on Vimeo On Demand and receives over 100 shares and thousands of views. 'Sun and Moon' also won three film festival awards on FilmFreeWay.
