Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Connect with screenwriters in Minneapolis through IFP Minnesota and other organizations. Workshop a screenplay in the Advanced Screenwriting Workshop at The Loft. 1) Upon the completion of the Advanced Screenwriting Workshop, I will learn techniques to improve my writing. 2) Start a writing group with local screenwriters so we can workshop our screenplays and get feedback from one another. 2: To learn to market and promote work, and to find a talent agent who would best represent my interests and work. 1) I will learn to market and promote work (using better marketing techniques, i.e., blogs, Facebook, connecting with local organizations like IFP Minnesota, etc.). 2) I will write better query letters and contact talent agents who would best represent my work.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I joined a Screenwriters Group (Screenwriters Workshop) and meet on a weekly basis to workshop my screenplay (new pages and revised pages) and give feedback on other member's work. Through this group I have learned to hone my skills in writing scene directions and dialogue. I also learned to give better critique by listening and learning from senior members of the group. I have connected with other writers at IFP MINNESOTA. The Advanced Screenwriting Workshop class was cancelled at The Loft due to low enrollment; however, I received great feedback and critique on my pages at the weekly Screenwriters Workshop group. 2: I have created a stronger Facebook page and connected via the site with local artists and screenwriters throughout the United States. I have begun writing query letters--members of my SWW group have been good about giving me feedback on the letters and advice on how to find a talent agent.
