Enhance performance art piece, Murus, by exploring unconventional uses of clay, improving group performance and developing new installation technique. Successful presentation of Murus performance exhibition in an academic gallery including redesign of the wall structure to last longer, a deep, trusting connection among performers, and final performance that is cathartic and impactful. 2: Engage the academic and surrounding community in thought-provoking dialogue about 'walls' by offering a performance art exhibition and workshop. Success will be measured by a well-attended exhibition and public workshop that is creative, emotionally-impactful, and receives positive feedback. Performers feel connected and prepared after receiving additional training prior to the performance.
Outcome 1: Group performance art piece (renamed Waterlines) was improved and presented to the public with a unified group of performers and full-stage install. Outcome 2: 60% of performers recruited from Macalester college. 5-day workshop/retreat weaving content about walls, division and healing into retreat and show. Audience Q & A after performance.
