Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

The artist will create and self-publish an artist's book about the Mississippi River that integrates the artist's photographs and narrative text. Create conversations about the process with members of the photo and art communities, as well as a workshop about sense of place for a senior community program at the Hennepin County Library. 2: Create marketing materials and mailers to promote the book. The creation of the artist's book will support the artist's more recent career direction of integrating photographs and text. The goal is to develop wider exposure to the artists photographic work through greater efforts to promote it.

Measurable Outcome(s)

Linda Gammell experienced significant creative and professional growth through knowledge gained from the process of self-publishing a limited-edition. The artist learned about collaborating with a printing lab, preparing scans, creating book signatures, working with a bookbinder and with writer/editors, securing rights from publishers, and preparing the book for public exhibition and collection. 2: The general public and other art professionals learned about the creative process of creating a self-published photo book by attending Art A Whirl ann. The artist created an in-person studio event in her art studio for the general public to view the book, see her creative process in an exhibition of print pages, as well as a slide loop highlighting the process.
