Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

I will develop my orchestration skills and composing skills for solo bassoon in combination with Chinese pipa. Feedback from the symphony conductor, bassoon soloist, and orchestra members will be used to evaluate my success in this pursuit, as will comments on audience surveys. Any increase in media attention and audience diversity will also be tabulated. 2: Performances for my double concerto will expose new audiences to the pipa. Surveys will be handed out to audience members with the concert programs asking about past familiarity with the pipa, how they would rank the concerto on a 1-10 scale, and additional comments, etc.
