Pinar Başgöze will commission pieces for piano duet and narrator based on Minnesotan, Portuguese, and Turkish folk tales. Composers from three different countries will write music to be performed in December 2020.

Communicate musical traditions from different countries, enrich Minnesota audiences' perception of music, and contribute to the cultural diversity. Feedback will be received from the musicians, composers, and audience members by post-performance discussions, Q and A sessions, and surveys. 2: Share a unique voice to expand audience experience of music, stating cultural differences do not segregate, but draw different cultures together. Musical traditions from three different countries are conveyed by the public performances of three new works based on folk tales. Q and A sessions were held with the audience members at the end of all three performances on May 12th at Antonello Hall, May 20th at Hastings Arts Center, and May 21st at University of Minnesota School of Music. We did not conduct surveys, due to Covid pr 2: As distinct as the cultural traditions from three different countries may seem, they complemented one another remarkably well.
