I will integrate my artistic practice with my curiosity about American culture and values, reflecting on an idealized American past through images. I will judge this outcome by the degree of interest and engagement this work garners outside of strictly art contexts (via personal response, social, broadcast and print media). 2: I will integrate original and found photographs, bridging my previous social-documentary photography with more recent exploration of sourced images. I will meet with colleagues, curators and other arts professionals to discuss the progress of this new combined approach.
I integrated my artistic practice with my curiosity about American culture and values, reflecting on an idealized American past through images. There has been a positive reaction to the ideas I am exploring, based on conversations in the communities where I photographed and relationships I developed. I will be better able to evaluate this impact when the project is released in book and exhibition 2: I integrated original and found photographs, bridging my previous social-documentary photography with more recent exploration of sourced images.
