Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Minnesota artists are able to expand or further develop their artistic abilities through varied learning opportunities. Minnesota artists are able to develop business skills needed to support their professional art work. More Minnesotans are able to engage in or with the work of Minnesota artists.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I expanded my use of scale by producing larger images printed on fabric and developed my artistic abilities and vision through the construction of a wallpapered environment for my images. I evaluated the success of this achievement by recording what I learned about planning, trouble-shooting difficult gallery spaces, and defining for myself what print-based installation work looks like in my studio practice beyond my initial assumptions. 2: In terms of business skills, I learned a tremendous amount about setting up a screen print studio to facilitate my needs. I also developed my skills in speaking cogently about my work, through an artist talk and informal classroom visit at Gustavus Adolphus College, where I made a specific effort to address why I use print-based media, and how I perceive my use of narrative and engagement with site. I evaluated these achievements by reworking my talk for two subsequent public lectures, and also redesigning the layout of my new studio space.
