Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

By completing this project, I hope to make connections that will lead to further career opportunities. I will evaluate my success based on further opportunities such as media attention, paid public and private commissions, and invitations to solo or group exhibitions on a local and national level. 2: By completing the project, members of my community will have the opportunity to meet a professional artist and engage in the creation of public art. I will evaluate the level of success based on the number of people that participate in the installation itself, as well as the dialogue I have with people I meet over the course of the project.

Measurable Outcome(s)

By expanding my project into a permanent sculpture that will accommodate the artistic work of students of Roosevelt High School and the Standish-Ericsson Neighborhood, this sculpture will provide a public space where artwork can be displayed in a rotating exhibit organized by students and faculty of the school. Collage, text, and other two-dimensional media created by others (not myself) are indeed the focal point of this project. The artwork created by the students/community will be programmed by teachers in subject areas beyond art and may include artists in residence. 2: The entire process of initial thought, design, fabrication, and installation has included students, teachers, and community members. This has created an opportunity for community members to engage directly with me as an artist who lives in the same neighborhood the artwork is installed in.
