Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

With new materials and more studio time, I will increase my drawing skills and enhance my work with new subject matter and stylistic choices. I will have found new ways to refresh the genre of still life. I will have taken risks by incorporating models, new objects, and background imagery into my drawings. My drawings will be more detailed, human, and visually potent. 2: I will give artist lectures in Minnesota colleges and universities to discuss my new work and grant experience, and give demonstrations of media. A refreshed, professional website with new drawings will promote my work and exhibits to a larger community and attract patrons. I will have given multiple artist lectures and demonstrations in local galleries and learning institutions.

Measurable Outcome(s)

I was able to get necessary supplies and materials, including drawing materials, copic markers, professional framing supplies, new still life materials, a new camera, and an updated printer. The grant also allowed for additional, intensive studio time. I was able to make new sizes of drawings with more complex still lifes, and the new frames and new drawing materials (pencils, markers) allowed me to grow creatively and to create more professional looking work. The camera allows me to take much better photographs of my still lifes and also better photographs of the completed drawings. My new drawings are more detailed and of higher quality as a result of this grant. 2: I gave artist lectures at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) to approximately 100 students in three different classes (professional development and illustration) to discuss my new work and grant experience, and gave demonstrations of media. A new, refreshed professional website with my new work has helped in promoting me to a larger community and new patrons. During the grant period I had 2,310 unique visitors to my website. 1,680 of those visitors were from the United States, and 641 of those visitors were from Minnesota, covering 69 different Minnesotan cities. This is by far the furthest reach my artwork has had.
