Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

I will use my weaving skills to create flat wall pieces and gourd art. I will create a permanent installation piece for the Barn Theatre and have an exhibit of new gourd works at the same time. I will know I have been successful if the reception unveiling my new work and installation piece is well attended and the work is well received. 2: I will create a professional website and promotional materials to help me advance my career. I will track the number of visits to my website and any resulting inquiries or sales. The promotional materials, including a new business card and brochure, will be widely distributed and I will keep track of any interest derived from them.

Measurable Outcome(s)

My intent was to create an installation piece for the Barn Theatre and I did indeed create one. Instead of a simply flat wall piece, I created one that was three dimensional built on a frame of hardware cloth. I also learned a lot about working with gourds and various finishes. I had a reception and artist talk when I unveiled the wall piece at the Barn Theatre. Unfortunately, it happened during one of our many winter blizzards so was not well attended. Many people told me they had intended to come but simply couldn't. They have come since then to see the piece and their comments have been very positive. 2: My website turned out very well - JanetOlneyArt.com. I have had a fair amount of traffic, a few inquiries, and one commission. The State Arts Board grant is clearly acknowledged on every page. I have handed out many business cards at the shows and events I've done and again have generated a lot of interest in my new work, many sales of gourds and one very nice commission for a large wall piece.
