Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

I will measure my improvement by getting feedback from local potters that I have been working with in the past year. They have been extremely encouraging and helpful in getting me back into ceramics and I have no doubt they will honestly give me their opinions and feedback. I will evaluate the feel of the surface textures along with the specific glaze combinations. I will also use a journal to record my progress and notes throughout the project. I will sketch out ideas and document glaze combinations and firing schedules that I attempt, during the process. Specific changes that I expect as a result of this grant are an artistic style with interesting textures and movement. I would also be creating larger sized pieces and forms, branching out and exploring an added sculpture aspect as well. I will be determining textures and glaze applications that are pleasing to look at and touch. By having my own kiln, I can be bold when experimenting with new glazing options and not worry about pieces breaking in transportation to the kiln I'm currently using. The purchase of my own kiln would propel my artistic career tremendously.
