ACHF Arts Access
I hope to increase art exposure, enhance knowledge on quillwork techniques, create artistic mediums and professions, and support intergenerational transmissions. I will have a broader network of mentors. I will have increased exposure and connectivity within the tribal art arena. I will be able to advance my skills into becoming a artist mentor. I would use photography to track my progress. My mentor will provide feedback about my skills. By exposing my artwork to public audiences I will receive feedback on what people want.
The project included a new beautiful website that includes my artist statement, professional information, a blog that holds some sample writing, contact information, downloadable information for promotions, event calendar, and a storefront, along with a social media presence through Facebook. I am very pleased with how these elevate my presence as a Native author/writer. Having the store front and app for transactions allows me to sell books in person and online. Another area of impact was the variety of venues I was able to connect my website and social media presence with, including interviews, conferences, and podcasts. Being able to refer or direct people to the website provides an opportunity to extend a casual conversation to continued follow up. Finally, in some ways it also supports credibility as an author/writer.
