Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

Creating a platform for increasing awareness, discussion, and marketing will support me as a literary artist and to help launch the Voices book. By having a public presence it will require me to be clear about my artistic goals, values, and approaches and help launch the Voices book. Creating a Facebook site will provide opportunity to increase visibility and awareness of my art and upcoming events as well as create space for discussions on intersections of of land, storytelling, Dakota history and contemporary issues, growing foods, etc. Attending 20 public book readings/signings will help market the Voices book and help increase my public speaking comfort level. I anticipate this next book launch and subsequent readings will only increase my confidence and 'own space' as a literary artist. I will know I was successful by having a completed website (with technical and artistic support) before book launch (November 2021) and tracking the number of followers, having a completed a Facebook page (with technical and artistic support) before book launch Nov 2021, and documenting the number of readings, locations, estimated audience numbers and demographics, and any marketing materials.

Measurable Outcome(s)

While I had been mostly focused on my generative quillwork, I now see it as part of a larger whole of Dakota artistic methods in digital space, and it has forced me to adapt to the rapidly changing technology. I spend far more time figuring out how to dance between generative and AI art, and how these mediums are uniquely poised to make social commentaries on colonization, indigeneity, and our ever-changing socio-political climate. Publicly, I have reached a much wider audience for my work, have been granted additional artistic fellowships and opportunities, and am taking far bolder chances with my artistic practice. I have also begun curating exhibits and spaces, with my increased understanding and usage of the technology.
