To bring my poems and art to a wider audience in hopes of eventually attracting the attention of a traditional publisher. In addition, I want to give courage and hope to persons that are exploring their own gender identity, specifically the older generations who may not have realized that they can truly be themselves even though they were shoved into a small box for most of their lives. I also want to provide a sense that this can be a joyful journey internally while affirming that it is a difficult one in our society. I feel that I will be successful even if I only publish the book and have an exhibit. This is because I will have exposed more people to the work, and provided an example of a life lived truthfully and with joy. Markers of greater success would be getting an exhibit in the Twin Cities or other metro areas, and getting a publishing contract for one or more of the other books that I have planned.
