With this project I want to dive deep into my childhood and reconcile with the past I so often try to forget. It is important to tap into what makes us human to be great artist. To me this is a very important event in my life that I want to express through my work. It would be to honor her memory and to make sure I don't forget about my family. The most vital aspect of living. The goal would to find a greater understanding of trauma and how to use it as motivation to live the best life we can life rather than a scar we pick at until it bleeds us dry. I will know I have been successful if I create a body of work that captures my experience of the death of my sister and evoke similar feeling within viewers. I want people to not only be presented with my past living in this world but to create reflections into their own lives. I see art as an opportunity to give moments of reflections to the artists but also the ones experiencing the art as a viewer. Great art should connect ourselves to our humanity and life experiences we share as a community.
