ACHF Arts Education
I expect to improve my over all skills as a sketch artist. I expect to address my weakness of shading and creating depth by working with Mr. Arndt who's work involves a lot of shading. I would also like to grow as an artist by challenging myself to to try a new subject matter, possibly a nature scene or wildlife. I also would like to learn more about different supplies that I could use. I want to learn the best use of different pencils and types of paper. I will have my mentor and my school art teach critique my work. I will also get the opinions of friends and community members.
Progress was made on enlarging the Board from 6 to 10 members. We examined our organizational and financial sustainability needs. A plan and process was determined for selecting an Organizational Development Consultant to assist the Board. We have stretched to become more of a working Board that takes a hard look at the organization's mission and programs. It has been interesting to see the breath of ideas generated with more Board members and increased professional depth and skill sets. We exceeded our goal to include a nationally recognized artist in our gallery each year by hosting the works of nationally recognized artists Heather Mackenzie (hand weaving) and J Arthur Anderson (photography). These artists and blind sculptor Den Bickhardt helped to increase the diversity in our exhibit programminf.
