Proposed Measurable Outcome(s)

My goals include to further my learning of pottery. When I went and saw Grace for the first time at a field trip, I was amazed at her ability and the art itself. I feel like this experience will bring out my artistic abilities. I will be able to learn techniques, ideas, skills on how to become a better potter. The opportunity would give me time to observe Grace, work alongside her, and make personal pottery projects. To measure my pottery skills, I will complete different clay items. After completing them, my mentor will critique to see if I have improved. I will also have my school art teacher critique them.

Measurable Outcome(s)

By doing lessons, I learned that the notes have a deeper meaning (one note can have different values and types of dynamic range that will vary depending on how hard and how long you press the keys). I also learned about chord progressions and the different keys that you can play in. As an artist, I not only grew in my understanding, but I also grew in my confidence to perform in front of others and worry less about the way I am perceived as a growing artist and student of music. My recital at the Tyler Nursing Home was my first public performance. I felt confident in performing in front of strangers and my understanding of the technical aspects of piano. I also enjoyed the happiness that it brought to the residents of the nursing home.
