ACHF Arts Education
I would like to specifically learn how to use vibrato and double stops. I know with more routine and specific lessons as well as practicing, my confidence and sound will improve with my violin tone sounding warmer and richer. Ms. Zeller is an outgoing and bold teacher, so I hope to pick up some of her confidence and energy. The advantage of learning from multiple teachers is they all have different methods and tricks to teaching. I thought of having one specific song to fine tune, ?Ashokan Farewell.? I think using this song specifically will help me gauge my progress over the summer and I can focus on some of the above details within the song. I would be able to hear my own skills and a positive difference in my skills on the violin. I would likely advance in double stops, vibrato and in my lesson books.
I reviewed my initial videos I sent in for the application. I had to admit I have really grown and excelled a lot in the 6 months of regular lessons with Mrs. Zeller. Since beginning the vibrato technique, I have improved on the motion and sound but like Lisa mentioned, it will take a long time and a lot of practice to get the smooth, beautiful sound. I am continuing to work on this skill on my own time. It is challenging but will be worth it. My ability to play chords has really improved. I cringe when I hear my previous attempts, they are much more enjoyable to play and hear in my songs. Reviewing my goals from the application, I did work on Ashokan Farewell with Lisa but progressed onto new songs early in the summer. As I mentioned before, I do see and hear my advancement in my tone quality. I can control the dynamics with more confidence and really like when I feel my violin resonate.
