The DFG was recently designated as a 501c3 public charity so educating the public and Guild members through classes, demonstrations and exhibitions is critical to our success. We would like the public to know of our existence as a resource, to provide opportunities for the community to gain knowledge about the fiber arts and its importance, and to increase membership in the Guild as a way to sustain our ability to continue our education outreach efforts. The outcomes we will measure with this project are: ? Guild class attendance has increased and includes new or non-members. ? Anniversary events have changed the size and demographics of our Guild membership indicating improved outreach efforts. ? New collaborations have been formed which support our mission. ? The public has new knowledge of how fibers affect an individual's life through clothing choices, art appreciation, or the historical and sustainable effects on our culture. Outcomes will be measured through the following methods: ? Attendance numbers at classes and events and, wherever possible, voluntary reporting of demographics will be recorded. ? Docent led tours will be scheduled at the exhibits and informal conversations with participants about what they learned will be noted. ? Evaluation surveys will be given to participants, the DFG Board, and the Anniversary committee to assess the new knowledge that was learned or to determine ways the education from an event could be improved. ? A review of membership demographics will be compared to previous years. ? The number of hits to the website and social media sites will be charted throughout 2023. ? Informal agreements with potential partners will be secured to explore collaborative projects or funding to continue into future years.
